The Davies Commission

Determining which proposed hub airport expansion is best for the UK.

Jacob Armitage uses design thinking and criticality to interpret information, episteme and ideas, representing them visually. The clear and concise communicative output is often accompanied and supported by argument, debate and reason.

This work has been created for fashion labels, educational and academic institutions, government bodies, national publications, films, metadesign projects, motorsport teams, art exhibitions, software developers and events.

Recently, the work has been focused on ‘design for the greater good’, using design thinking, criticality and technical skill to address issues of social debate.

Neo-Lateralism: The use of dynamics and juxtaposition to instil a sense of hyper-reality through contrast. A background in film gives works a certain cinematic aspect, exaggerating abstract concepts, yet reinterpreting such potential ambiguity in coherent, simple and strong visual terms.

"Jacob has developed and crafted his own strategies of thought and methods of enquiry to apply to any academic task, these have resulted in Jacob producing effective, meaningful and expertly researched solutions to academic task. Jacob has an infectious sense of humour and in my experience of working with him he brightens up the studio environment with his constant positive attitude and generous nature."

“Jacob Armitage has always been there for me and my fashion label. He produced our original branding which has been used on all of my promotional literature and web marketing. Together we have produced some stunning fashion photography to promote my seasonal lines and even a fashion film which beautifully shows my clothes in motion and represents the styles and values of my business.”

- Jennifer Cook - Fashion Designer (Hello Margaret)

“We needed a logo, letter head and business cards designed. This was put out to creative tender. There was much interest with nearly 100 designers expressing interest. Some were exceptional, from this group Jacob Armitage stood out. We are totally delighted, work exceeded our expectations by a margin. I would fully recommend  Jacob Armitage.”
