Logo / Brand / Stationery Design
DIT Consultancy were long established IT Consultants when they came to me for a re-brand. Business was going well but DIT felt their branding and logo were becoming outdated. They needed to keep their existing image but modernise and bring it up to date. Their existing logo used hexagons to denote connectivity, a bit like honeycomb. However the multiple form logo was difficult to work with, its obscure shape made it difficult to place anywhere or balance with text nor was it particularly unique or recognisable. I decided to take the hexagon shape, then exaggerate the connectivity concept by using connecting lines within the shape.
DIT had always used a corporate colour palette consisting of green and purple, I found their existing hues incredibly difficult to work with and after much debate managed to persuade them to change to the shades you see above. The problem laid in the saturation, the only reason DIT wanted to stick with their original colours was for existing client recognition, which I insisted was a bad move. Who wants to be remembered for something bad, right? However after finding the nearest possible complimentary colours in WGSN‘s colour forecast matrix, I presented the new colours and branding to them, needless to say, they loved it.
As with all branding projects I undertake, the finished product was delivered with a ‘brand guidelines’ PDF which gave instructions to future designers or DIT staff on how to use their new corporate identity. DIT consultancy have given me permission to share this document, click here to take a look.
